Being accessible doesn’t just mean a wheelchair user can get in! In fact there are MANY Disabled people who do not need wheelchair access at all!

This is something that I experience  a lot! Often people think I just need wheelchair access and that is all - there often isn’t the thought for other access needs!

I think a lot of this comes from just lack of understanding when it comes to access needs - there are so many different needs that people may not be aware of, some of these include:

Sign language

Access to toilet

Breaks during the day

Dietary needs

Clear signage and direction

Plus many many more - please do feel free to add your access needs in the caption!

Disability is a large spectrum and because of that, there are many different things that people need! So please when planning an event try to think of multiple access needs in the process or hire an access consultant to help!
