She And Her Family Were All Alone Until Someone Finally Noticed Them
An avid rescuer named Kristin was driving down a road in Texas on a rainy day when she spotted something moving in the bushes nearby. She pulled over and looked a little closer — and realized there was an entire family hiding on the side of the road.
A mama dog and her puppies were huddled up in some bushes, trying to stay out of the rain. The puppies were rolling around unaware, but their mama looked sad and defeated. She stared at Kristin with heartbreak in her eyes, and that’s when the rescuer knew she couldn’t leave them there one for more second.
Kristin later found out that local animal control had been trying to catch the mama dog for over a year with no luck. She was just too scared and kept running away. As soon as she saw her rescuer lurking near the bushes, the mama dog scurried away. Kristin followed her from a safe distance and watched her go into a crate someone had set out for her and her puppies. Kristin held her breath and snuck up to the crate — and managed to shut the door, securing Mama safely inside.
“Mom was skittish of people, but she tried her best to keep them safe,” Kristin wrote on TikTok.
Unfortunately, Kristin couldn’t get the door to latch, so she sat next to the crate until her friend arrived to help out. The pup just lay there confused, not knowing yet that she was finally safe.

Forgotten Coast Animal Rescue stepped up to take in the sweet family. Mama was still hesitant on her first day at the rescue, but as the days went on, her tail started to wag, and she was finally ready to start accepting love.
“She was so tired and ready to be helped,” Kristin wrote. “Now we can celebrate all her accomplishments and tell her how loved she is!”
Once Mama and her puppies are all healthy and ready, they’ll be up for adoption and can finally head off to their forever homes and learn what life and love are all about.
