Two gifted scene craftsmen become impractically caught while building a nursery in King Louis XIV's castle at Versailles.
Acclaimed manufacturer Le Notre is entrusted with building an ethereal royal residence for King Louis XIV (Rickman) that rises above excellence. Le Notre recruits Sabine de Barra (Winslet) to structure and build the open air dance hall, and is before long charmed by her excellence. Sabine is similarly excited by Le Notre however she is battling to manage her past. Through the preliminaries of building the nursery the two starving specialists meet up.
